It’s been one year since we launched CBD+ and boy, what a year it’s been. Time flies when you’re having fun. To celebrate, we’re sharing three of our favorite CBD oil recipes and two of our favorite product success stories.
But first, we want to take a little trip down memory lane. (You can scroll down to the recipes if you want, we won’t mind).
The Journey to CBD+
An Explosive New Project
It was so hard to keep our little bottle a secret, especially when operations focused intensively on production. There were several round of strict meetings and testings.
Why?
Well, we have pretty high standards around here–only pure + premium products with the most quality ingredients make it to the final stage.
You see, some companies aren’t completely honest about their practices and we wanted to make sure every step of the way, we were not cutting corners. After all, if YOU were going to use this product, we wanted it to be both safe and effective.
Potency and Purity
We wanted to create a product that you could trust. Plus, we wanted to create a product that was truly premium and stood apart from the rest.
Thus, CBD+ was born.
What’s different about our CBD, when compared to others? Here’s the breakdown:
- 1500mg (most places offer weaker concentrations)
- based in full spectrum hemp oil (instead of coconut oil)
- peppermint flavor (for a more calming sensation and experience)
Why CBD?
In today’s hyper-active world, nearly everybody is dealing with sensory-overload and is in need of de-stressing support.
Luckily, every body is also equipped with the Endocannabinoid System, a natural stress-reducing system. Receptors throughout the central nervous system are designed to absorb and utilize a phytochemical found in hemp called cannabidiol (CBD) that biologically helps manage physical and emotional pain.
• Substantial health discoveries have documented its success as a form of therapy
• Medical doctors, pain relief clinics and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) treatment centers have advocated for its use in treatment
• CBD has been used to reduce the psychoactive effects of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), cannabis’ psychoactive compound that is responsible for brain fog, delayed reactions and the feeling of being “high”
Launch Day
Finally, launch day came and we received so much positive feedback from you all. A new community within Purium emerged as the CBD movement began to sprout its wings. It was exciting!
We watched all your videos: running up to your mail carrier in anticipation of the oil’s arrival, your first impressions and more…we were so happy.
And then, our happy train hit a roadblock in the railroad.
Moving Sites
One day, our web provider pulled the plug on our CBD page, forcing us to remove the product altogether. It was a huge blow to us.
So, why was the product pulled? Unfortunately, laws governing CBD operate in a grey area. While we are disappointed in our provider’s decision, we also respect that they acted in what was best for their company and employees. Tough decisions are never easy, we definitely know that.
We had to think fast. In a short span, CBD+ had helped many on their paths to wellness and we couldn’t just leave those people hanging. So, we hit the books and got a new storefront running.
Today
After picking our store back up, we hit the ground running again (thanks to you amazing people).
We listened to your feedback and learned that the peppermint flavor was not jiving with some people. In addition, some customers wanted to use the oil for the pets, but the flavoring was prohibiting them from do so.
Thus, we released an unflavored version. This flavor might be better for cooking/baking too (unless you’re okay with a minty infusion).
Today, we’re still so happy to be providing you with pure and potent CBD. And with what the future holds, we’re pretty excited. We hope you are too!

We love a good green smoothie. (Power Shake, anyone?) Shape.com actually gives a pretty yummy-looking recipe, using CBD oil. You can also spray a few times into your shaker bottle to give any Purium drink a little boost.
