Eating healthy during vacay is h-a-r-d, but not impossible.
Cutting out bad foods or stepping up workouts is even more difficult and if you’ve made progress, congratulations! Healthy habits get easier as they become a part of your daily routine, but what happens when you want to bask is some well-deserved R & R?
Summer is just around the corner and you know what that means: vacations, lounging in swim wear, floating on pool floaties shaped liked swans and refreshing treats that cool us down.
Okay, before we get carried away, listen up to avoid those summer slip-ups!
1. PREP is key
Let’s face it–you’re going to want to indulge in temptations, especially if you’re short on time. Who thinks about eating healthy on vacation? If you’re not home, do the calories even count? YES!
This doesn’t mean you can’t sample new foods on your travels; just be smarter about it.
Whether you’re traveling by plane or car, pack a few healthy snacks and some green Power Shake that will be a good source of daily energy. Make a mental plan to substitute 1-2 meals a day with a shake and steer clear of empty calories and sugar-filled foods.
