Spirulina: Mother Nature’s Multivitamin

SHARE

Unique among sea plants, there are thousands of algae growing in the 70% of the Earth covered in water.  Perhaps none is more digestible or charged with beneficial phyto-nutrients than Spirulina.

What is it?

There’s a reason Spirulina has been nicknamed “Mother Nature’s multivitamin.” A blue-algae organism found in fresh and saltwater, Spirulina has provided ancient cultures from the Aztecs to early Africans the minerals and vitamins they needed to climb mountains, work the land and power through to survive.

Though life may not be as extreme anymore, this powerful green supplement can be instrumental in keeping you energized and full for longer periods of time, while supporting  heart health and immune function. . It is nutrient dense, packed with protein and loaded with marine omega fatty acids. Plus, this energizing superfood powder is easy to digest and assimilate.

How does it work?

Spirulina has a glycogen cell wall that dissolves in gastric juices and contains both green and blue pigments, which process light through photosynthesis, allowing a wide spectrum of sunlight to be utilized.

Adding Spirulina to cultured immune system cells significantly increases the production of infection-fighting cytokines, according to immunologists at UC Davis School of Medicine and Medical Center, Sacramento, Calif. They found that in chickens, Spirulina increased antibody responses and the activity of natural killer cells, which destroy infected and cancerous cells in the body.

  • Rich source of carotenoids
