‘Tis the season for holiday flavors 😍  At this time of year, stores all around the world break out the fall festivities and flavors, and for the first time in Purium history, we want to join the fun!

We introduced Organic Pumpkin Spice Protein last month, and now we’re introducing Organic Peppermint Bark Protein!

Learn more about both flavors and try our mouth-watering recipes.

A Healthy Way to Stay Warm – Organic Peppermint Bark

We’re checking nutritional panel lists and we’re checking them twice 👀 Did you know a 16 oz peppermint mocha from a leading coffee shop packs a whopping 440 calories and 54 g of sugar?

With only 80 calories and 0 g sugar, Purium’s Organic Peppermint Bark Protein is MINT to be your new holiday favorite.

Ingredients

Featuring vegan protein sources you know and love, our Organic Peppermint Bark Protein is pure and premium, just like all of our products.

Here are the star ingredients of our Peppermint Bark Protein:

Organic Pea Protein

Pea protein is one of the world’s most popular vegan protein sources and for good reason. This source contains 9 essential amino acids needed to build muscle. What’s more, pea protein has been studied for supporting weight loss and keeping you satiated longer. Read our Pea Protein deep dive here to learn more.

Organic Brown Rice Protein

Published in the reference book Sustainable Protein Choices, organic brown rice is touted as a great protein source for its hypoallergenic ability. This means that it can be used by those who may have allergies such as a legume allergy. Brown rice not only contains essential amino acids, it also contains fiber that supports your body’s digestion, making it perfect for those who tend to feel a little queasy after downing other types of protein drinks.

Organic Cocoa Powder Alkalized

Hot cocoa anyone? Cocoa is revered for its polyphenol content, which means they have powerful antioxidants. Antioxidants support the body’s response to free radical damage on cells and skin. Plus, cocoa tastes great, so of course you can find it in all of your decadent chocolate treats.

Organic White Chocolate Flavor & Organic Candy Cane Flavor

We totally understand why you may be a little nervous when seeing any type of flavoring. Our promise to you is that we will never use anything that contains irradiated or genetically-modified ingredients, binders, fillers, hormones, herbicides, or pesticides.

Our natural flavors are organic, plant-derived, and allergy friendly.

Purium Peppermint Bark Protein

Peppermint bark is easy to make, and it’s delicious! This is the perfect recipe to be made with children or family during the holidays. We put a little holiday spin on this from Orgain’s recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 3.5 tablespoons of Purium Organic Peppermint Bark Protein
  • 24 oz of organic, non-GMO Dark Chocolate (you can buy the discs or small chunks instead of bars, to make things easier; you can also use a couple of ounces less if you want)
  • 6 oz of organic, non-GMO White Chocolate (you don’t need a lot, just enough for a drizzle on top)

Optional

  • 2 tsp chia seeds
  • ½ cup almonds
  • 5 candy canes (to be crushed for topping)
  • ⅛ tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Use a cookie sheet or tray and place some parchment paper on top. This will be used for your bark!
  2. Carefully melt dark chocolate chunks/discs over low heat (do not go above 90 degrees).
  3. When dark chocolate is melted, add in the Organic Peppermint Bark Protein powder. We did it slowly, being sure to mix up the powder and chocolate as soon as we poured it in.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 for white chocolate. You can use half a serving of protein powder instead (about 1 and ½ to 2 tablespoons)
  5. When this is done, carefully pour the dark chocolate mix onto your tray. Be sure to spread it across with a spatula or kitchen utensil.
  6. When dark chocolate mix is spread, now you can drizzle the white chocolate over (PuriumHack: we used small baggies and cut holes in them to create little piping bags!)
  7. Swirl it up! You can use a butter knife or other kitchen utensil to create white swirls with white chocolate.
  8. Finally, add your toppings. We used crushed candy canes.
  9. Let chill. (We left ours out at room temperature and added ours to the fridge to help speed the process when the chocolate had started to harden).
  10. Break into pieces and enjoy!

Fall into Pumpkin Paradise

Did you know a Starbuck’s Pumpkin Spice Latte is a whopping 360 calories? Not only that, these crafted brews contain 14g of fat, 50 g of sugar,  including 9g of saturated fat, which is 45% of the recommended daily intake! We thought pumpkin spice is supposed to be a pick-me-up not a drag-me-down! With Purium’s new blend, you don’t have to worry about not-so-great ingredients.

Here are the star ingredients of our Pumpkin Spice Protein:

Organic Pea Protein

Pea protein is one of the world’s most popular vegan protein sources and for good reason. This source contains 9 essential amino acids needed to build muscle. What’s more, pea protein has been studied for supporting weight loss and keeping you full for longer. Read our Pea Protein deep dive here to learn more.

Organic Pumpkin Protein

Purium loves pumpkin protein all year round, not just in the fall! Why? Because this spooky time fav is actually nutritious. Pumpkins contain vitamins, protein, and fiber.

You may be wondering why we include multiple protein sources. That is a good question — a varied protein diversity is actually a great way to support your body. This is due to your body absorbing vitamins, nutrients, and amino acids (building blocks for protein) from various foods (according to Villanova University).
