Zoom Recap – Heart Health

Cardiovascular disease is a leading cause of death in North America, most especially for the United States. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimates that one person dies every 37 seconds in the US from cardiovascular disease.

Read that back one more time. One person dies every 37 seconds in the US from cardiovascular disease. 1 in 4 deaths in America are attributed to health disease, with an estimated 647,000 Americans dying each year to related causes.

Heart health is important.  Even if you don’t think you are affected by it, you never know what the future might hold – so preparation is key.

What to Look Out For

So, what exactly should you be looking out for as you take better care of your cardiovascular system? Cardiovascular disease is a broad term, and can refer to anything from high blood pressure to even a heart attack.

In their Zoom, Dave & Amy talked about heart attacks, strokes and cardiac arrest. Here are some key points to take away:

  • Inflammation contributes to all heart disease
  • Heart attacks occur when oxygen and blood stop flowing to the heart.
  • Strokes occur when oxygen and blood stop flowing to the brain. This can be caused by a blood clot, which can also cause a heart attack.
  • Cardiac arrest is the most severe of heart complications and it can be instantly fatal.

You might also be interested to know this fun fact, too: heart conditions actual share a common symptom with some autoimmune disorders. Can you guess what that is?

Inflammation Biomarker

When the body experiences inflammation, it releases a protein called the C-reactive protein. This protein does not cause inflammation; instead, it marks cells that need to be eliminated.

So, what’s the issue?

When the body experiences increased inflammation, it releases increased levels of C-reactive protein. When this protein is released in increased amounts, it may end up marking up healthy cells for elimination.

That’s where heart disease and autoimmune disorders share common ground. Both patients may encounter heightened levels in their health reports. Inflammation can contribute to higher blood pressure, decreased immune system response and more.

Tips for Healthy Living

For healthy heart health, Dave & Amy encourage eating an anti-inflammatory diet. You can learn more about that here.

What’s more, this means limiting your consumption of inflammation-prone foods:

  • red meats & highly processed meats
  • dairy
  • highly processed foods
  • beer

Purium Products

Dave and Amy also spoke about two products that may support a healthy heart.

Biome Medic

In a human, pre-clinical trial, Biome Medic reduced the C-reactive protein count of the participants in the study by 75%! Because of this, many people have reported feeling better about their body’s response to inflammation. As we discussed, inflammation is a major biomarker of heart disease.

Heart Aid

Dave & Amy also shed light on our product called Heart Aid. Heart Aid contains holistic herbs that are highly revered by ancient Chinese & Ayurvedic traditions for their cardiovascular system-supporting benefits:

  • hawthorne berry
  • cilantro (also helps cleanse the body of heavy metals)
  • garlic
  • guggulsterone
  • arjuna (tree bark)
  • ginger root
  • grape seed extract
  • cayenne pepper

Together, these ingredients may help increase oxygen uptake and reduce free radial damage with consistent use over time.
