If you’re reading this post, there’s a very strong chance that you may have heard the phrase “10-Day Transformation” before. Or in its shorter version as well: the 10-Day or Transformation.
Or perhaps 40-Day Ultimate.
We realize just how terrifying the words like “cleanse,” “40-Day” and “ultimate” can be – especially when they are in the same sentence. But, before you run for the hills, give us a chance to explain.
We are here to help everyone (and anyone) fall in love or reconnect with daily plant-based nutrition because eating whole = feeling WHOLE.
A 10-Day cleanse is certainly a leap in the right direction, but it’s only a short-term experience.
If you really want to feel amazing, then good nutrition must be a part of your everyday routine – which can be difficult, to say the least.
That’s where our Core 4 Lifestyle Plans come in handy – but, we’ll get to that later.
What You Want to Know About 10-Day Transformations
All right, here we go. The best way to describe our 10-Day Transformation is as a jumpstart, tune-up, cleanse or “vacation” from processed, GMO-filled food. What exactly does a 10-Day entail? What can you expect on going on one?
Then and Now
Once upon a time, there was only one 10-Day Transformation. It followed mostly the same principles as today. However, we realized that not everyone had the same health goal so we narrowed them down to three big ones:
- Weight Loss
- Nutrition / Cleansing
- Athletic Performance
It’s pretty simple. For 10 days, you basically consume all the products that are in your pack, plus Flex Foods and lots of water. This limits your caloric intake tremendously, but provides your body with all the nutrients your body needs. Now, we get to a little bit of a controversial conversation. In most cleanses, eating is discouraged, and it’s even frowned upon. So, how do you apply that to a 10-Day?
Why would eating be allowed on a cleanse? Well, it’s related to intermittent fasting. What is it? Essentially, it’s abstaining from eating for a period of time (hours range) and then eating in-between another period.
Human studies have shown promise for this as a method of weight loss.
Our Transformation follows a similar methodology, yet what’s unique about our programs are the foods we “allow” to be eaten.
Though we do recommend abstaining from eating (especially starchy or GMO-filled foods), we worked in “Flex Foods and Lifestyle Meals” to our Transformations.
Flex foods are fruits or vegetables that are “allowed” during a Transformation. Some examples include:
- 1 avocado
- 1 apple
- 1 cup of watermelon
- unlimited celery
- unlimited cucumbers
Be sure to refer to the Lifestyle Guide for more examples.
It is recommended to stay away from starchy veggies such as winter squash, pumpkin, corn and sweet potatoes.
So, why is that?
Well, veggies are great, but starchy veggies can be a little problematic for some, especially when you’re on a Transformation. In fact, on a diabetes diet, it is recommended to stay away as they can increase blood glucose level.
Starchy veggies are not inherently bad and we’re not saying to stay away them forever. But during a Transformation, they may hinder results.
At its core, the idea behind Flex Foods is to help guide your food intake and cravings, while also fueling your body with essential nutrients.
The same idea can be applied to beverages.
Beverages that are encouraged (besides water) include the following:
- hemp, almond, coconut, or oat milk
- organic vegetable broth
- Purium green drinks, like Green Spectrum
The only 10-Day plan that incorporates these is the Athlete’s Transformation. However, all Core 4 and 40-Day programs incorporate them as well.

Lifestyle Journey: The 10-Day Stretch
Anyone can do anything for 10 days, but a drastic change can certainly be challenging.
Everyone responds differently, but many people feel that the beginning is the hardest (Day 2/Day 3). Others find the struggle in the middle or, even the end.
Tips to help the challenge:
- Alternate your flex foods
- Save 2 flex servings and eat a salad: 1/2 c spinach, 1/2 avocado and cucumber (add lemon juice and sea salt and pepper for dressing)
- DO THINGS! When you don’t have to focus on food, there is an abundance of free time. Take a painting class, go for a walk, journal and get tea with friends.
- Most importantly – plug into the support
10-Day Transformations can seem scary, especially if you’re on your own. This is why we love our Group Cleanses! But, even if you Transform solo, Purium offers LOTS of support:
- Support Phone Calls :Monday – Friday, 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT / 3:30pm HT. 712-432-7658 / 7873#
- Text Message: Opt in for daily text messages while you are on a 10-day (just text “transformation” to 55678/USA or 70734/Canada).
- FAQ’s: Check out our FAQ’s on the program here.
- It Starts with 10 Days – Transformation Support Group: Check out the Facebook group to talk to others going through a 10-Day and those who have been in your shoes. PLUS – there are recipes and helpful tips to keep your motivation strong.
A maximum of 3 servings of flex servings are “allowed” per day on a Transformation.
Okay, so why do we keep saying “allowed?”
Well, because it’s more of a recommendation. We obviously don’t know you as well you do! So, if you feel you need to eat something, then please do.
But just make sure it’s a “flex” food/drink, so it doesn’t set you back or interfere with your Transformation as much.
If things are really rough…indulge in one Lifestyle Meal.
Eventually, we hope you hope this method will help you make healthier choices down the road, far after a Transformation.
One question people often have is, “can I exercise during a 10-Day?” It’s quite a normal question, especially considering exercising is one way to lose weight — a major reason why some people look to Transformations.
So, what’s the answer?
Unless you’re doing the Athletes version of a Transformation, it’s not recommended to heavily exercise. However, walking and even light yoga would be okay.
As for those on the Athletes path? Well, of course you can. Weight-training, cardio, running and even sports activities are what this plan is made for!
So, why the difference?
Well, it has to do with the types of nutrition you are fueling with at the time. Athlete’s Transformations include products like, MVP Sport and Can’t Beet This! This products help provide optimal protein and nutrition to help support energy and exercise. The other Transformations do not include this, so you won’t be feeling as pumped.
Okay, now we can chat about Core 4 packs! These packs provide 30 days of our Core Products. A daily
serving of each product is enough to keep your whole nutrition game going – every day.

Before & After
If you want to do a 40-Day Ultimate or 10-Day Transformation, just how do you start? Well, first you order your pack on iShopPurium.
But how do you prepare? Well, you can jump in, but we recommend preparing by eating lightly a few days before. This might mean sticking to a more plant-based diet. The same applies for afterward. You don’t want to jump right back into big meals after days of intermittent fasting and cleansing.
We can’t wait to hear from you!
