Meal Makeover: Caramel Apple Pie


We all crave sweets from time to time (or…maybe even all the time). It’s not easy to fight those dessert urges, especially during the fall and winter season. Stores have stocked up on candies and everyone is posting homemade pies on Instagram and the holidays haven’t even begun yet!

No worries, you have us in your corner.  Sticking to your healthy lifestyle never tasted so good. Now, here’s something whole, delicious and pretty enough for YOU to post on Instagram!

Caramel Apple Pie

(Recipe by Kirsten Brown with modifications by editor)

What you’ll need:

Gluten-free organic pie crust

8 organic apples (sliced)

½ cup Purium Tropic oil (coconut oil, melted)

½ cup organic coconut sugar

¼ cup organic 100% honey

3 tablespoons organic almond flour

1-2 tablespoons organic cinnamon

2 scoops Caramel Apple Daily Fiber Blend

What to do:

Mix all ingredients well and add to a pastry dish

Cover edges of pie crust with organic banana leaves (or aluminum foil if banana leaves aren’t available), remove 15 minutes before done cooking.

Cook at 425 degrees for 15 minutes then lower to 350 degrees for 35 minutes.
