3 Healthy Valentine’s Treats and Recipes

Written by: Purium

Valentine’s Day is this weekend (*hint hint*)!

After seeing last week’s post about unique and fun dates, I’m sure you’ve got some ideas up your sleeve for what you’re going to do with that special someone this weekend. If you planned on buying him or her a box of chocolates, hold off on that for just a few more minutes. What if you made the treats instead? Not only is it a healthier option, it shows your sweetie that you took the time to make something for them and that you care. Now don’t we all want that?

Below are 3 recipes that will sure leave your honey satisfied!

1. Healthy Chocolate Covered Strawberries

*Organic strawberries

*1/4-1/2 cup organic coconut oil

*1/8 cup Purium MVP Kids (or cocoa powder)

*1/8 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt

*1/2 teaspoon 100% pure organic vanilla extract

Directions:

Mix all ingredients (except strawberries) together and dip strawberries into mixture. Put in fridge to harden until ready to eat!

2. Healthy Heart-Shaped “Reeses”

Ingredients for the inner layer:

*1 cup organic sunflower seeds (shelled and roasted)

*2 tablespoons Purium Organic Tropic (coconut) Oil

*1 teaspoon raw local honey

*1 dash sea salt

*1/2 teaspoon organic cinnamon

Directions for inner layer:

Use a food processor for the seeds first until in a powdered form then add the rest of the ingredients until well mixed. Add more coconut oil for a creamier consistency!

Ingredients for the outer layer:

*1/8 cup Purium MVP Kids (or cocoa powder)

*1/8 teaspoon Himalayan sea salt

Mix all ingredients together.

Directions for final product:

Pour small layer of chocolate mixture into heart shaped molds, add a layer of the nut/seed butter, and then top with chocolate layer again. Put in fridge for 30 minutes and enjoy!
